The project works in 3 year cycles, on an annual basis, following the school terms in each province. Each tour lasts some 4 weeks in its allocated area, travelling according to a pre-arranged schedule, five days a week during term time; an average of two tours a term per team. Each province is allocated two terms a year of performances.

Each of the arepp:Theatre for Life shows is specifically designed to appeal to the targeted age group to foster identification. The shows incorporate the current music, the sayings and the ‘attitude’ of that age group, and address the audience on their level, in their home language, with stories from their context.

The specific activities of arepp:Theatre for Life are:

1. Presentations at Secondary Schools of the Look Before You Leap Series (5 plays) for Grades 10 to12 (ages 16 to 23) and Grades 8 and 9 (ages 13 to16).
2. Presentations at Primary Schools of the About Us Series (4 plays) for Grades 4 to 7 (ages 10 to 13).
3. Presentations at Primary Schools of the No Monkey Business Series (7 plays) for Grades 1 to 3 (ages 6 to 9).

Sub-activities:

1. Facilitated Discussion with each grade
2. Schools Report for all Educators
3. Distribution of a follow-up lesson plan, and training in the materials for Life-Orientation Educators.
4. Distribution of Contact List of local support and follow up organisations and their services.
